Sessions
The Meeting will include oral and poster presentations from the following sessions:
Micropalaeontology: Ostracoda & Foraminifera
Palynology & Palaeobotany
Microvertebrates
Vertebrate Palaeontology
Invertebrate Palaeontology
Palaeoanthropology
Contributions that do not fall into any of the categories above will be included in the General Palaeontology group.
Abstract guidelines
The deadline for abstract submission is the 28th of February 2017 7th of March 2017. The abstracts must be .doc or .docx files and not exceeding 400 words (main text). Each abstract must include: the title, the authors’ complete names and affiliations, a short summary of their work and up to three references (if necessary). More analytically:
All typescript pages must be single-spaced with at least 3 cm (1.2 in) on lateral margins and 2.5 cm (1 in) on upper and lower margins of each page.
Title page: capital letters, Arial black, size 12, bold and centred.
Complete name and surname of all authors: separated by comma, with a superscript number to denote the affiliation and author address. The corresponding author should have a superscript asterisk. Type must be Arial, size 11 for authors, and Arail narrow, size 10 for the address and affiliation.
Main text: Type must be Arial 11-point font size.
References: maximum of 3 references (only if necessary).
References within the text must follow the format “(Papadopoulou et al., 2016)” and every reference cited in the text has to be complete in the reference section (where the type must be Arial, size 8). Cites must be in alphabetical order by first author, second author and so on. In case of cites with the same authors, they will be chronologically ordered from older to more recent. References in the reference section must follow the format: Papadopoulou, P., Tsoni, M., Kolendrianou, M., 2016. Palaeoclimate evolution of the Charadros area derived from the ostracodes present in the Pleistocene sediments from Vigla. Quaternary Research 24: 114-127.
All the text must be written in English. Only references should be separated by headlines. Works that do not follow the publications guidelines will be returned to the authors before sent to the reviewers.
The abstracts are submitted online in the Contact us tab of the 2nd IMERP’s website.
Abstract reviewing
All works will be peer-reviewed. Because of the diverse nature of the works submitted, the organizing committee asks from every participant the name, institution and e-mail address of three possible reviewers for their abstract, in order to help with the assignment of suitable reviewers. The names of the possible reviewers should be written in the end of the page of the abstract, underneath the reference section.
Online registration form
Registrations are submitted onlinein the online registration platform of the 2nd IMERP’s website. Please fill in your personal information in the same way that they are seen on official documents and do not choose tabs randomly if they do not correspond to what you want or if you are not sure what they mean.
Registration process
Registration must be done filling the registration form online (one form per person). The registration process will be considered complete once the bank transfer receipt and the abstract for the contribution in the Meeting will be submitted as well. The deadline for both the registration of a participant and the submission of their abstract is the 15th of February 2017 28th of February 2017. If a participant submits their registration form online but not the bank transfer receipt or their abstract, their registration will be saved and considered active until that date.
Important note: Submitting your registration form does not guarantee a place in the Meeting. Only after the deposit of the registration fee and the submission of the bank receipt and the abstract will you be considered an official IMERP-participant.
